Sleep No More

"Sleep No More" tells the gripping story of a group of university scientists experimenting with a drug called Cognifan. Their goal is to stay awake for 200 hours in the hope that after this time the human body and mind will function better than normal. While the study participants initially experience normal sleep deprivation symptoms, they soon begin to see shadowy figures that they recognize from their dreams. These creatures, which turn out to be manifestations of their deepest fears and memories, are not pleased to be deprived of their food source - people's dreams.

Our role in this project was crucial for the visual representation of these shadowy creatures. Our team was responsible for the creation of over 400 VFX shots. The main task was to integrate creatures that emerge from the shadows and are made of smoke into the already shot movie. The collaboration was complicated by the fact that the movie had already been completed and the main communication with the Texas-based director and producer was via video chat.

Despite these challenges, we developed an innovative concept that combined 3D smoke effects with real shot footage. The producer was put into SFX makeup and played various scenes in front of a green screen, which we then carefully matched with the original film. By combining 3D smoke effects with a variety of compositing layers, we were able to seamlessly integrate the creatures into the film and create a convincing atmosphere.

Through our hard work and dedication, we were able to turn "Sleep No More" into a visually stunning movie experience that captivates viewers with both its storyline and visual effects.
